Nephrotic Syndrome, Proteinuria 2+ and Swelling on Face: What to Do

Question: Hi, Nephrotic Syndrome was firstly diagnosed in Feb-2002. I had taken medicine up to 2006 continuous (prednisone and cyclosphorine) after that first relapse in 2009 at that time medicine taken for two to three week. Further from Nov -13 to till 2 times relapse occurred. Now I am taking Prednisone 10mg and Pantoprazole capsule 40 mg. In my urine trace amount of urine shown currently from last 4 days before that, that value is 2+ that time i am taking Prednisone 20mg. In early morning still swelling on my face and creatinine value is 0.52 on 07.01.18. Please help.

Nephrotic Syndrome, Proteinuria 2+ and Swelling on Face: What to DoAnswer: Since you were diagnosed with the disease in 2002, you have had as long as 16 years of medical history. It is a very good thing that your creatinine level still keeps within normal range.

However, creatinine level does not increase until 50% of renal function becomes lost. Now your kidneys have been impaired (protein in urine), but the kidney damage is not enough to raise your creatinine level.

About Nephrotic Syndrome

Nephrotic syndrome is an immune-medicated disorder, in which the immune system fails to function normally. When certain harmful substances invade into body as antigens, antibodies will be produced by immune system. In blood, the antibodies and antigens will combine together to form immune complexes. With blood circulation, the immune complexes will form immune deposits in kidneys.

If the immune deposits can not be cleared away, they will cause inflammatory response in kidneys, thus leading to damage to kidneys. Prednisone and cyclosphorine can suppress the inflammation in kidneys temporarily and relieve symptoms. However, if the immune complex deposits in kidneys can not be removed, it will cause continuous inflammation. A lot of inflammatory factors and immune deposits will affect the blood circulation in kidneys, thus leading to renal ischemia and anoxia. If the kidneys keep in this state over time, the kidney tissues will become fibrotic and finally necrotic. By then, renal function will decline progressively.

Treatment for Nephrotic Syndrome patients with proteinuria 2+ and swelling on face

For your case, the most important thing is to stop the relapse of nephrotic syndrome. In this way, you will be able to avoid renal function deterioration. Here we recommend you to try Toxin-Removing Treatment. It can clear immune complexes and other wastes from the blood and kidneys. It can also restore the balance of anti-inflammatory cytokines and pro-inflammatory cytokines to reduce renal inflammation and prevent further kidney damage. Moreover, it can improve blood circulation and increase blood flow into kidneys to improve renal ischemia and anoxia. With good blood circulation, essential elements such as nutrients, vitamins and active ingredients of medicine can be transported into nidus to speed up kidney recovery. After about one week’s treatment, swelling will disappear. After about half month’s treatment, proteinuria will reduce. After about one month’s treatment, your disease will be under control. With treatment going on, you can get a permanent control of the disease and reduce its relapse as much as possible.
